Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province

Fr. Patrick has been a Franciscan for 23 years serving up and down the East Coast primarily in University and Parish ministries.  As a chaplain at Siena College, Duke University, St. Bonaventure University, and Furman University he has been privileged to guide and accompany students to adult faith.  Fr. Patrick has also served the Marine Corps, the Cities of Durham NC and Greenville SC Police Departments, Death Row Central Prison Raleigh NC, and the Poor Clare Monastery in Traveler’s Rest, SC.

Outside of his first love, the Lord and His Church, his interests include popular music, surfing Cape Hatteras, wood working, home repairs, and government.

Dr. Brian Goess, Faculty Advisor

Department: Chemistry

B.S. Notre Dame University

Ph.D. Harvard University

Hometown: Vestal, NY

Position in CCM: Dr. Goess is our faculty advisor, which basically means that he is a resource for officers and all other students in CCM. He loves helping and supporting Furman students, thus his position in CCM fits his passion perfectly!

Activities/Hobbies: Skiing, scuba, bowling, golf, cooking, Red Sox baseball, Notre Dame football, Star Trek, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, pinochle, Settlers of Catan, and helping Mario rescue the princess.

Eliza Stucker, President

Year: Senior

Major: Chemistry and Biology

Hometown: Irmo, SC

Position in CCM: President, which means Eliza makes sure that everything going on with CCM flows smoothly and happens! She is the on-campus student representative for CCM, and is a constant resource for anyone who needs her!

Activities/Hobbies: Eliza has many strange hobbies and activities that she jumps to when not doing homework! She loves working with animals and volunteers at the Greenville Humane Society as a pet therapist and as a volunteer in the puppy and kitten room when her schedule allows. Eliza also enjoys digital SLR photography and the accompanying photo editing (Photoshop, etc.) as well as blogging! She is a trained TurboKick (kickboxing) and Hip Hop Hustle instructor and teaches twice-weekly classes at Furman’s Physical Activity Center. Eliza also enjoys reading, writing, praying, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Rob Picardi, Vice President

Year: Junior

Hometown: Belmont, MAMajor:  Math and Physics

Position in CCM: Vice president, so Rob is in charge of organizing CCM’s extracurricular work through our apostolates at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and School. Basically, he’s in charge of making sure our “love at work” motto is being realized outside of Furman University’s campus! Rob coordinates after school care and tutoring at St. Anthony’s and he is the liaison for the home building project we work with St. Anthony’s on. This project involves demolition and rebuilding of houses for families who need a place to live.

Activities/Hobbies: Rob enjoys running, playing basketball, and most things outdoors. He’s a member of FCA (but not an athlete) and FUOC (Furman University Outdoors Club). Rob also works at Einstein’s, tutors, works for the phonathon in the development office, and is a serious Boston sports fan.

Katie Windsor, Co-Program Director

Year: Sophomore

Major: Elementary Education

Hometown: Summerville, SC

Position in CCM: Co-Program Director, meaning she works with Kristen to coordinate Wednesday night meetings as well as retreats.

Activities/Hobbies:  Apart from CCM, Katie is a member of the Women’s Chorale on campus. She loves singing as well as  swimming, reading (especially nerdy books), hiking, watching Dr. Who, dancing, studying languages, spending time with her ‘ginormous’ family, and listening to music.

Kristen Watts, Co-Program Director

Year: Sophomore

Major: Chemistry

Hometown: Greer, SC

Position in CCM: Co-program director, meaning she works with Katie to plan CCM retreats and our Wednesday night discussions!

Activities/Hobbies: Kristen is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) as well as Mock Trial. She also is a part of the HHMI Fellows program. She likes acting, singing (loudly and poorly), yoga, Harry Potter, Broadway shows, chemistry humor, cheering for Michigan state in pretty much everything, and loves the Big Bang Theory and House.

Mary Lewis, Co-Liturgical Coordinator

Year: Sophomore

Major: Piano Performance

Hometown: Greenville, SC

Position in CCM: Co-Liturgical Coordinator, meaning she works with Alex to set up and disassemble Mass, organize volunteers to lector, altar serve, and/or be Eucharistic ministers. Also, Alex and Mary coordinate prayer life for CCM, including: Bible study groups, Eucharistic adoration, group rosary recitation, and recitation of Liturgy of the Hours (Morning and Evening Prayer).

Activities/Hobbies: Mary enjoys teaching piano lessons, singing, camping, hiking, and tutoring at St. Anthony’s in her spare time. She listens to John Mayer, The Weepies, and classical music of course :)

Alex Panuccio, Co-Liturgical Coordinator

Year: Sophomore

Major: Biology

Hometown: Greenville, SC

Position in CCM: Liturgical Coordinator, meaning she works with Mary to set up and disassemble Mass, organize volunteers to lector, altar serve, and/or be Eucharistic ministers. Also, Alex and Mary are responsible for coordinating prayer life for CCM, including: Bible study groups, Eucharistic adoration, group rosary recitation, and recitation of Liturgy of the Hours (Morning and Evening Prayer).

Activities/Hobbies: Besides CCM, Alex is involved in “anything that will get me more medical experience/knowledge, one of my favorites being FUMMO (Furman Medical Mission Organization).” She also enjoys traveling, swing dancing, learning about other cultures, hiking, music, and cooking with her family. In Alex’s spare time, she also enjoys theatre or dance.

Peter Lehmann, Religious Council Representative

Year: Junior

Major: Sociology with a Poverty Studies concentration

Hometown: Roanoke, VA

Position in CCM: Peter is CCM’s representative to Religious Council, meaning that he helps get CCM money for its many projects, as well as relays information about CCM to the wider religious community at Furman.

Activites/Hobbies: Peter is on the executive board of the Furman Residential Life Council, and he plays piano and tennis for fun. Peter is also very involved and interested in pro-life issues, and is a member of Furman Students for Life.  Lastly, Peter enjoys sports, music, spending time with friends, deep discussions, and professional procrastination.

Ricky Davis, Secretary

Year: Sophomore

Major: Psychology

Hometown: Kennesaw, GA

Position in CCM: Ricky is the Secretary of CCM, which means he takes notes at all the officer meetings and advertises CCM events around campus. Starting Spring semester, Ricky will be working to help CCM transition to OrgSync.

Activities/Hobbies: Ricky is a FRAD this year, and is also a witness on the Furman Mock Trial team. He enjoys reading, coin collecting, and watching TV, especially Jeopardy!, The Office, and Parks and Recreation. Ricky is also a huge Star Wars fan. You may also seem him altar serving at Mass.

Sofi Delgado Perusquia, Treasurer

Year: Senior

Major: Economics and Asian Studies

Hometown: Germantown, TN

Position in CCM: Treasurer, which means Sofi signs all the checks for CCM. She also reimburses our fabulous volunteers who volunteer to cook on Wednesday nights. Lastly, Sofi is in charge of the Sunday collection and keeps track of the CCM bank account.

Activities/Hobbies: Sofi is involved in Kappa Kappa Gamma as their treasurer for the second year running as well as the Shi Center for Sustainability. She loves reading, music, singing, painting, dancing, swimming, Broadway, China, soccer, Mexico, and cheering on her favorite Mexican soccer team. Sofi enjoys watching The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family, baking for other people, and meeting new people!
