Everyday Catholic Questions

Most Catholics, at some point in their lifetime, will be asked by someone who is not Catholic why they hold the beliefs they do. Here is one instance of questions asked by a woman dating a Catholic man. The accompanying responses were written by former president Eliza Stucker and frequently reference the Catechism. Bolded text is the woman asking the questions, italicized text is quotes from the Catechism (always available in the Vatican archives-use the numbers to search). Read the rest of this entry »

Want a movie to watch over Thanksgiving break?

Mitch Albom, author of the number one New York Times bestseller Tuesdays with Morrie, released another hit–Have a Little Faith–at the beginning of this year. This book has now been turned into a motion picture that will be premiering on ABC Sunday, November 27th from 9pm-11pm.

Have a Little Faith: A True Story

Catholic.org even posted about this upcoming premiere! The trailer for this movie gives you a taste of what it will be like–it has been reviewed as a “story about life’s purpose – losing belief and finding it again – and about the divine spark inside all of us. One man’s journey is really everyone’s story.”

So, here’s an interesting, inspiring movie for you to watch with your family over the Thanksgiving holiday!

Peace all!

Do you have a little over 5 minutes to appreciate God?

This video was sent to me by a dear friend. It calls to mind the numerous gifts we are given each moment by God himself. This video has awesome nature footage–it will absolutely make you thank God for the gift of Himself in each moment.

Peace and good!

Eliza

All Saints Day

Happy All Saints Day! Today we remember all those saints, both living and deceased, canonized and not, who reflect to us God. We reflect on who and what a saint is, and we strive, like they do/did, to mirror Jesus’ life so closely.

What’s happening in Somalia?

The condition of Somalian peoples has been worsening over time, being particularly severe this fall. We’ve mentioned this a few times in prayer, but I think it’s necessary to give a more overarching story of what is actually happening in Somalia.
